As a Unit Clerk you are the the point of first contact in matters concerning the efficient administration of the facility and play a key role in helping to foster a team environment.
You are a high school graduate who has successfully completed a recognized Unit Clerk Course (including medical terminology), or has previous medical office experience.
You are well organized, have well developed interpersonal skills, and have the ability to communicate effectively with others both verbally and in writing.
As a Unit Clerk, your responsibilities include:
- Providing a variety of clerical support for the unit
- Answering the telephone and assisting patients
- Facilitating communication between all health disciplines, patients and families
- Maintaining confidentiality of patient information
- Processing and ensuring the completion of physician’s orders for a variety of tests and procedures related to patient care
