Pharmacy Manager

As a Pharmacy Manager you will create a customer focused environment that excels in customer/patient care by dispensing prescriptions and consulting with patients to maximize sales. You wil ensure accurate dispensing of all prescriptions in compliance with all Federal & Provincial legislation and company policy. You will deliver effective pharmaceutical care and maximize clinic and dispensary profitability and productivity.
You have strong communication, customer service and interpersonal skills. You have the ability to organize, handle multiple tasks, meet tight deadlines and ensure the pharmacy operates within the policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include:

  • Processing prescriptions using the triple check method, in accordance with professional and legal requirements.
  • Ensuring proper storage and security of pharmaceuticals.
  • Ensuring that all pharmacy staff present a professional image and provide friendly and excellent customer service to foster strong relationship building.
  • Ensuring that narcotics and controlled drugs are properly received and recorded.
  • Minimizing medication incidents according to company policy and procedure and in the event of any incident, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.
  • Maintaining inventory levels to maximize gross margins and minimize financial and inventory loss.
  • Overseeing staff and the staffing function. Managing employee hiring, work schedules, training, orientation, the performance management process, and employee relations.
  • Ensuring that clients receive clinical pharmacy services in accordance with the pharmacist’s manual and the client services agreement.
  • Ensuring that professional profiles for all patients are complete and receive ongoing maintenance in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring that patient confidentiality and privacy are protected.
  • Preparing or ensuring that weekly, monthly and quarterly reports are completed and sent to Head Office by the deadlines provided.

Qualifications

  • Current pharmacist license from the Ontario College of Pharmacists.
  • Three years of retail, hospital or long-term care pharmacy experience.
  • Three years of management or supervisory experience.
  • Strong leadership and team building skills.
  • Strong delegation skills, accountable.
  • Professional, confident, high integrity.
  • Possess or willing to complete the Opioid Dependence Treatment Course provided by the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health within 6 months of hired date.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Office Suite and email, to be used for reporting purposes.
