Payroll Supervisor Overview
As a Payroll Supervisor located in our Toronto corporate office, you are a key member of the Human Resources team providing support to our Centric employees. You have 7-10 years of payroll experience, including 2-3 years of leadership experience delivering a timely and accurate payroll, while ensuring confidentiality and compliance with governing legislation and corporate payroll policies.
You have an in-depth knowledge of employment (labour) standards, federal legislation, payroll and accounting standards and strong computer skills, including advanced excel skills and knowledge of HRIS systems. You have demonstrated coaching skills, communication skills and project management experience. As well you have the proven ability to see the big picture, propose efficiencies and to create and strengthen the payroll infrastructure.
Your strong analytical and organizational skills are critical to success in our fast paced work environment. You have a proven track record for developing strong client and customer relations.
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring timely and accurate management of all payroll functions including proper payment on a timely basis of wages, contractor payments, deductions, benefits and other related amounts.
- Ensuring compliance with all established legislation, payroll standards and General Accounting Principles (GAP).
- Serving as the subject matter expert, as an internal resource for managers in regard to payroll matters and as the escalation point to resolve issues.
- Ensuring proper internal controls, financial outputs and reporting of payroll data, expenses and accruals.
- Developing regular and adhoc reports as required and requested by HR and Management.
- Participating in payroll related business process improvements and communicating changes to the payroll process.
