As an Orthotist at Lifemark Health, you are a key member of our multidisciplinary clinical team. You provide care to clients with disabling conditions of limbs and spine by fitting and preparing orthopaedic braces, under the direction of and in consultation with a physician.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting in formulation of specifications for braces
• Examining and evaluating clients’ needs in relation to disease and functional loss
• Selecting materials, making cast measurements, model modifications, and layouts
• Performs fitting, including static and dynamic alignment
• Evaluating braces on clients and making adjustments to ensure fit, function and quality of work
• Instructing client in use of orthopaedic brace
• Maintaining client records
• May supervise orthotic assistants and other support personnel
• May supervise laboratory activities relating to development of orthopaedic braces

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree and graduate of Orthotics and Prosthetics College program

*Successful completion of Canadian Board of certification exam for Prosthetists and Orthotists

• Ability to work independently
